Remember, Easter is so much more than just a holiday to get families together… it is proof of how much God loves us and what He was willing to sacrifice for each of us. Now that is worth remembering all year long!
Sisters in Christ have had a couple of extra special times together lately!
In March, they attended the Zach Williams concert in Ames. Riley Clemmons opened the show, and they had a wonderful time enjoying some great music with good company.
Then, they recently attended the Women’s Night of Fellowship at River Valley Orchard and Winery. There they enjoyed praise songs, a light dinner, and an awesome speaker who focused on REST: The peace that comes from abiding in our Good Shepherd.
The Sisters in Christ meet together the last Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm in the Friendship Room. They would love to have you join them!!
This year on Good Friday we gathered to remember the sacrifice of our Lord, and we relinquished our sins by nailing them to the cross. Knowing that Friday is good because Sunday was coming. On Sunday we were reminded of the redemptive grace the Lord died and rose for. Pastor K took each of those sins and then burned them.
In Hebrews 12:29 the Bible states, “Our God is a consuming fire.” Let Him burn in you today, tomorrow, and the rest of your short life on this earth. Let the Lord’s fire burn out every root of sin that has taken hold in your body. Know that in Joel 3:21, the Lord speaks of the time when His Holy Spirit would be set free in the earth (our present time), “I will cleanse their blood ….” He wants His fire to consume you completely, cleansing you and purifying your soul.
Today, turn yourself over to God, who is a consuming fire. Invite Him to come in and burn within you and burn out those wrong attitudes, ideas, prejudices, and sinful habits.
We had an awesome time at our last King’s Kids for this school year! The Savior’s Super Cereal Squad had a great time learning that Easter is more than just bunnies and eggs! We had great fun with jelly beans and crafts, and of course, some awesome games! And of course, then there are all of those fun songs!!
Thanks so much for sharing your kids with us this year, and we look forward to seeing them again next fall! Enjoy a few pics from the day… more coming soon!
